Old and New(port)

My husband and I are taking our big summer vacation in a few weeks over to the east coast!  I'm VERY excited as this trip has always been on my bucket list.  We will be spending a week in Boston, Nantucket and Newport, Rhode Island!

I'm already thinking about what I need to pack, however, instead of buying a new vacation wardrobe (which I've been known to do...) I really want to try and re-purpose things I already own.  My idea is to take pieces from my closet and pair them with just a couple new things so it feels like I have new outfits.  Plus, it's summer sale time so it's a good time to pick things up at a discounted price!

Here's what I have planned so far.

Day Outfit

This outfit would be great for a day out exploring Nantucket.  Just preppy enough to fit in like a local!  I already have the shorts, tank and sunglasses, so the cardigan and sandals would be new purchases.  This cardigan would also work well as a transition piece into the fall season. I love the bright colors!

Night Outfit

This outfit is a perfect example of what I need to do more of with my wardrobe.  I own all these pieces (except for the bracelets) but never considered putting them together until I sat down to do this post!  All I would need to do is add a few pieces of arm bling to finish it off!
(A steal at just $24! Lightweight yet fully lined!)

Day Outfit

I love this skirt! Love, love, love! And it's on sale! So I'll probably be picking this up very soon.
I actually recreated this outfit after I saw something similar on one of my favorite blogs!  Go figure :)

I have this jacket and blouse so I would just need silver flats and the pink skirt.  A utility jacket and chambray shirt are staples in my wardrobe that I wear all year long.  If you like those two pieces together bur aren't into pink, you could replace it with just about any other color.  White jeans would look great, yellow cropped pants, or even these printed pants
